2. Munchkin Cats
The Munchkin cat could easily be the cutest kitten breed you ever see. With teeny tiny short little legs and normal-sized bodies, these diverse cats are absolutely adorable.
You could say the Munchkin is the sausage dog of the cat world, thanks to their short-legged trait.
The Munchkin cat breed is considered the original dwarf kitty, and they’re not exclusive but are rather linked to several other breeds. For example, you can find the Genetta cat or even the Maine Coon Munchkin mix. It’s all about those cute short legs.
There is quite a lot of controversy surrounding potential health mobility issues in these sweet-looking felines. They were excluded from feline competitions for many years and are only recognized by a few official organizations.
However, most sources say that the shortness of their legs does not affect the Munchkin’s running and leaping abilities. Also, they generally experience no more joint or bone issues than other cat breeds. So, if you are passionate about their little legs, your ethics needn’t be compromised.
The personalities of Munchkin cats are generally sweet, outgoing, and intelligent. They also respond well to being handled, which is lovely, as you’ll undoubtedly want to hold these cuties all day long.
3. Siberian Cats
You may know by now that I’m the proud parent of my Siberian, Alexei, so I’m slightly biased toward this cute cat breed. With a stunning array of coat colors, a thick and luxurious main, plus the Siberian’s affectionate personality makes them well-suited to any home.
These laid-back kitties enjoy a good round of playing and are very attached to their humans. Siberian cats will follow behind you and jump on your lap at a moment’s notice.
As these loving cats originate from Siberia in Russia, they’re well suited to cold conditions. They’re also an ancient breed considered ancestral to all modern long-haired cats. Now that’s quite the pedigree.
4. Russian Blue Cats
Russian Blues are a startlingly pretty breed with emerald-green eyes and a luxurious silvery coat. These felines are sweet-tempered and fine-featured, with long legs, allowing them to run at high speeds.
It’s an expensive cat breed that really enjoys playing and requires a good bit of attention when you get home. Although, they do enjoy napping in a quiet corner and tend to shy away from large groups.
If you’re not careful, these cute cats can get a bit chunky from overeating, so you’ll need to be firm at mealtime. Russian Blues are another very intelligent cat breed, so providing enough mental and physical stimulation to keep them happy is essential.
5. Ragdoll Cat Breed
What is the cutest cat breed known for its unique trait of going limp when you pick them up? Say “hello” to the Ragdoll cat, a playful and friendly feline well known for its stunning blue eyes.

A rare breed with a beautifully spotted coat, the Egyptian Mau cat is a historic feline. It has a medium-sized but muscular build, with longer hind legs. They are the fastest domestic cat breed in the world!
Egyptian Mau cats prefer heat and are quite sensitive to temperature. So if you live somewhere very cold, keep this in mind.

7. Persian Cats
Persian cats are affectionate, docile, and gentle kitties. It’s one of the cutest kitten breeds with a quiet demeanor that plops down on any soft surface and simply poses for your appreciation. These elegant cats are not very active, which makes them the perfect indoor pet.
Grooming your Persian needs to occur regularly (at least once daily), but that’s okay because these fluffballs enjoy being pampered. Try to find a comb or a cat brush that’s appropriate for the length of your Persian Cat’s coat. You’ll find, with these bundles of joys, the more you groom them, the more lovable they’ll become toward you.
Although affectionate, Persian cats are discriminative and reserve their attention for family and a few trusted guests.
Persians are beautiful flat-faced cats that get along with children and other household pets. However, they aren’t fans of loud environments but rather serene homes where little changes.
8. British Shorthair Cats
With their large gold, orange, or copper color eyes, short, broad nose, and short to medium coat, the British Shorthair is a cute kitten breed you’ll adore. Their medium to large-sized bodies need daily grooming, especially during seasonal changes.
These cute kitties are highly intelligent and love to stay inside and play with toys and people. They can get a bit plump if not exercised, so get some wand-like toys to get them moving.
This indoor cat breed has an easygoing personality and provides great companionship. While these cats love to play, they don’t require hourly attention.
9. Himalayan Cats
If you’re looking for the cutest cat breeds with blue eyes and long, dense coats, take a look at this gentle feline. The Himalayan cat is medium-sized, with a similar appearance and features to the Persian cat.
They differ in blue eye color from Persians and have white or cream coats, with various color points resulting from crossing with the Siamese cat.
The Himalayan cats, or Himmies, are beautiful and often exhibit kitten-like bursts of energy. They can go from sleeping in sunlight to zipping around through the living room. Himalayan cats make great companions and thrive on interaction, exercise, and grooming.
10. Turkish Angora
Turkish Angora cats are known for their long, silky coats, which often become longest around the cat’s neck. They are an adorable combination of large ears, almond-shaped eyes, and a small to medium-sized head.
These friendly and gentle cats also have a more boisterous side and love to run, jump, and explore. They love to play and will do almost anything to get your attention.
One of the many drawcards of this cat breed is that the playfulness they exhibit as fluffy cute kittens is maintained throughout their lives. They will enjoy curling up and sleeping next to you and on you on both the couch and your bed.
11. Ragamuffin Cats
This often large and long-bodied cat is as cute as its name. Its soft and silky coat can become quite long and fluffy. This cat breed likes to be held like a baby and is known for its docile nature.
They’re known for behaving more like a puppy than a kitten and love to play fetch, learn new tricks, and even go out for a walk. Ragamuffins are very much lap cats and will be at their happiest close to their favorite people.
12. American Bobtail Cat Breed
With a short tail, tufted ears and toes, and a slightly short neck, the American Bobtail cat breed screams cuddle me.
This playful breed is great with families and gets on well with strangers. You’d get this cute feline if you had to take a Golden Retriever and a cat and mix their personalities. This is a devoted and loyal breed that also often enjoys going out on walks.
This intelligent cat breed loves puzzles or a game and playing fetch. Bobtails are also curious kitty’s that are easygoing and well-suited to road-tripping and other outdoor adventures.
13. Bengal Cat Breed
The Bengal cat’s name derives from a combination of the Asian leopard cat and a US domestic cat, plus they’re a fairly new breed on the block. These affectionate cats are energetic and playful.
A distinctive feature of their thick and lustrous coat is the pearl or gold dusting or glitter effect. This is one of the many features of the lovely Bengal cat contributing to its extreme cuteness.
The breed is also known for its black-rimmed and almond-shaped eyes and distinctive whisker pads. Add to this their thick tail that often finishes in a black tapered tip, and you have one of the cutest cat breeds.
14. Birman Cat Breed
This adorable breed is characterized by its darker face, which contrasts with a generally white body. The Birman’s bushy tail and paws are also usually dark, as are the insides of their ears. All of this is offset by gorgeous blue eyes.
These affectionate and gentle cats were bred for companionship, so they are happiest spending time with their favorite humans.
They tend to be happiest indoors and are best suited to this lifestyle. Many owners find them so adorable they end up with a second Birman, and this breed loves the company of other kitties as well as humans.
15. American Curl
These happy kitties are affectionate, healthy, and talkative. The name refers to the unique ears of the American Curl cat, which curls backwards in an adorable way.
Like the wirehair cats, American Curl kittens are all descended from a single natural genetic mutation. They also became officially recognized very quickly by the International Cat Association in 1987 and the Cat Fanciers’ Association in 1993.
Curious, clever, and people-loving, the American Curl is perfect for families. Don’t be surprised if your cat headbutts you or rubs against the legs, they are affectionate in the most peculiar of ways. Curls are also active and adaptable, with older Curls known to be just as active as younger ones.
16. Abyssinian Cats
Your Abyssinian cat may well become your best friend. These high-energy cats are always on and ready for fun. What they love most is being close to their owner, so they will be in whichever room you are in.
This breed has a relatively small face, meaning this large-eyed cat stands out even more.
This friendly cat breed is also known for its intelligence and love of a good climb, so be sure to give it a garden or a cat tower for playing. But most of all, the Abyssinian loves its human family.
This sociable cat likes company, so if you have a busy lifestyle, it might be an idea to get another cat or pet to keep it company when you’re not there.
17. Chartreux
This French cat breed only comes in gray or blue. It is known as one of the most polite breeds – not a word normally associated with cats!
This is one kitty that doesn’t like to complain and will be not just your friend but a friend to any guests as well.
Their round eyes tend to come in shades between copper and gold, which beautifully offset their blue-gray coats.
This still rather rare cat breed is a great option for a busy person who lives alone or a busy couple/family. It likes to play, but this desire generally comes in spurts. And this is a breed that is quite good at entertaining itself.
18. Scottish Fold
Scottish Fold cats are named for their unusual folded ears and striking, yellowish-orange eye colors. These kitties just love to be around people and have an easygoing and great personality, making them easy to get along with.
Whilst they may be best known for those funny folded ears, this breed is also characterized by beautiful big round eyes. Their eyes come in shades of gold, blue, gray, or green. Add these to those fluffy ears, and you have one cute cat breed!
As active mousers, Scottish fold cats are playful, sensitive, and expressive. These joyful felines have a habit of posing in odd positions – sitting upright like a meerkat, lying on their backs with paws in the air, or flat on the floor.
They are moderately active and enjoy toys that test their agility and challenge their intelligence, like interactive puzzle toys. Scottish fold cats crave attention and make great companions, so expect to play with them when you get home from work or school.
19. Toyger Cat Breed
The Toyger is a newer cat breed originally called the California Toyger. The word Toyger was meant to be a mix of toy and tiger. The name derives from its tiger-like and slightly wild appearance but domestic cat nature.
Toygers are extremely affectionate and can attach themselves to their humans. It is an active breed but definitely a lap cat. They love to play – particularly with feather toys – and have lots of energy. But once they are worn out they will come and seek out your lap.
Their coats are dense and soft with a luxurious appearance. This expensive cat breed currently only has one color: brown mackerel tabby. The mix of black and gold drive their resemblance to tigers.
They have a sleek body and a long and luxurious tail, small rounded ears, and small to medium eyes. Their eye color is normally yellow or green. There are only a limited number of accredited Toyger breeders, which also drives their high prices.
20. Cymrics
This very furry breed is best known for something that it doesn’t have – a tail. A cat this furry does require quite a bit of grooming and brushing. But this will be offset by its playful personality.
This is quite a stocky cat, more like a British Shorthair with its rounded head and rounded rear. Their hind legs are longer than their front legs, which is pretty noticeable when they stand up.
Cymrics come in a whole range of colors, one of which makes them a popular tuxedo cat choice. And do note that not every Cymric cat comes with a tail, so this may be something that you want to check with the breeder if it is of importance.
