Some people believe you shouldn’t rush the process of naming a cat. Others feel it’s fine to leave it up to the toddler in the house and be done with it.

When you choose a name for a grey cat, you want to make sure that the name reflects the look or personality of the kitty.
Simultaneously tongue in cheek and possibly very reflective of your cat’s color, Ash could mean many things to many people.
It’s not clear whether grey is the color of dust, but while there’s doubt, this seems as cute a name as any. It has the odd quality of seeming somewhat cavalier as well.
The eponymous characters from the 1984 film are at once cute, but then become insanely mischievous. Gremlin. You never know how they’ll turn out.
The song goes: “A foggy day in London Town….” And London’s reputation for being cold and gray may or may not be deserved. It makes for a wonderful name for a grey cat.
