Ragdoll Colors

Seal Point

Seal Point Ragdolls are the most popular colorway. They tend to have a pale, cream-colored body with darker brown points. Their little paw pads and cute button noses also tend to be dark brown. Blue Point

Blue Point Ragdolls have a light-colored coat but tend to be bluish-white to platinum gray instead of cream. They have more soft and subtle hues of blue and gray in their point areas. Hence, many consider blue points a beautiful gray cat breed.

Chocolate Point

A Chocolate Point Ragdoll has pale ivory fur on its body and darker brown hair around its points. Their milk-chocolate spots are much lighter than the seal points’, which tend to be very dark in color. Think cookies and cream!

Lilac Point

Ragdoll Cat Patterns

The most common patterns are mitted, colorpoint, and bicolor ragdoll cats. Lynx point and tortie point are considered non-traditional color patterns that have resulted from genetic mutations from various breeding efforts.

Colorpoint

Mitted

Mitted Ragdoll cats, similar to a colorpoint, have clear color markings. However, mitted Ragdolls have snow-white gloves on their front paws and booties on their hind ones. These cats also have a white chin and a ‘bib’ area around their necks.

Bicolor

As the third traditional pattern, bicolor Ragdolls have an inverted and symmetrical ‘V’ mask on their faces. The color of bicolor Ragdolls is restricted to their ears, tail, face, and saddle area. Therefore, their chest, stomach, and legs are all white.

Lynx Point

Lynx point Ragdoll cats can combine all or any of the above three colorway patterns. There are usually tabby markings on their face in the shape of an ‘M,’ with white around their eyes.

Tortie Point

Short for tortoiseshell, torties are usually a combination of two colors other than white. These colors can be mixed, but they can also appear in more prominent, separate patches. They have a more mottled appearance around their face and usually exhibit red or cream markings mixed with one of the official colors.
